Smoky Valley Men’s Choir
October 17 @ 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

The Smoky Valley Men’s Choir was formed in 1997 at the request of Carroll Lindgren, a first-rate tenor and a member of the Hyllningsfest Committee. Lindgren, a Bethany College alumnus, was aware of the Swedish tradition of men’s choirs, so asked Leah Ann Anderson to form a men’s choir to perform at Hyllningsfest. Beginning with approximately 25 singers, the Smoky Valley Men’s Choir now has 45 to 50 singers of varying ages and backgrounds. Their repertoire consists of sacred and secular music sung in multiple languages. Anderson states, “The singers in the Smoky Valley Men’s Choir are talented and experienced musicians. It is an honor and a privilege to continue as their director.”
