| Svensk Hyllningsfest Commemorative Coins |
| Svensk Hyllningsfest coins were produced for the 1969 -
1991 festivals. The back of the coin remained constant with the work
of Margaret Whitfield Johnson in the form of a Swedish dancing girl, the
festival's logo. Johnson was attending Bethany College, studying
under Dr. Birger Sandzén, in 1941. A competition was held to
determine a logo for the first-ever Svensk Hyllningsfest and Johnson's
entry was selected as the winner. The opposite side of each years
coin featured a unique design for each year symbolic of landmarks and/or
local symbols. |
